Customer journeys are
everywhere you look.

My work experience with customer journeys didn’t begin on the web. It started in a less conventional space: digital menu boards.

The fundamentals were the same: How can we help someone find what they want and keep it simple? It’s funny—you’d think by now we’d have seamless experiences everywhere, given how many years professionals have spent tweaking and improving them. Yet, the complicated, fast-paced nature of our world often leaves things in disarray, even though it’s not the intention.

The last thing I want after a long day is to feel frustrated while trying to order off a menu or locate a product online. People’s lives are complicated enough without convoluted user experiences. To me, being a user experience designer has always meant trying to leave something a little better than I found it—making life just a bit easier for someone else.
